A mirror of crystal-clear water surrounded by the intense greenery of an oasis devoted to relaxation and leisure: the Biolago of Predazzo, a unique place, all to be discovered.
Located in Località Fontanelle, in the immediate vicinity of the skate park and playground, the Biolago of Predazzo is the result of a project created with the aim of enhancing and returning to the community one of the most beautiful green areas of the country.
In this very area, the international competitions of the “Ten Days Equestrian,” a major sporting event that Predazzo hosted from 1977 until 2015, were held for years.
The biolago, which opened to the public in August 2020, is a natural “pool” fed by a well of drinking water and a mountain stream; here the water is constantly purified solely thanks to the plants and microorganisms contained in the special tanks where the stunning water lilies with white and pink flowers and the cattail reed stand out. Since the water purification takes place without any use of chlorine or additives harmful to the environment or people, some fish can also be seen swimming undisturbed in the tanks. The water, whose maximum level reaches 150/160 cm, is heated by the heat of the sun-a sustainable management system in every respect.
Perfect for all ages
The gently sloping pebble bottom (bar side) is the perfect place for the little ones, who can play in peace here while the spray from the central fountain refreshes them from above. Older children are spoiled for choice: diving off the pier, a game of “beach volleyball,” a sup ride, etc.
If you have never tried it, we recommend renting boards and paddles: you can take them for 20 or 40 minutes, but since time flies here, better to assume the longer option now.
On warmer days, the bottoms bathed by the icy waters of the stream that feeds the biolago will be a perfect kneipp path with a rejuvenating effect!
Inside the park, the large green area, always well maintained, is interspersed with shaded areas thanks to the presence of some trees, but it is also possible to rent deckchairs, sunbeds and umbrellas.
For a snack, a free lunch or the inevitable aperitif, the bar, with its large outdoor patio, is open daily from June to September from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Here you will find an excellent assortment of sandwiches, piadinas, salads, cold dishes, ice cream and, “dulcis in fundo” cotton candy…
The ecosystem of the lake is particularly delicate, which is why, unfortunately, our four-legged friends cannot accompany us, and for the same reason, before entering the water, it is mandatory to take a shower to remove any residual creams and oils. In the park you will find toilets, showers, baby changing table.
The Biolago also hosts, many events: concerts, yoga classes and last but not least the Namastè Festival, the first yoga festival in Val di Fiemme: two days of yoga and wellness, experiencing different styles of practice (yoga nidra, vinyasa flow, Taiji, sound baths, meridian gymnastics) and holistic activities, such as henna tattoos and shiatsu for children.
