Summer in Predazzo is not only about walks through the Dolomites, hiking and outdoor activities. In the heart of the village, there is also a place where people can meet, play, listen, learn and share experiences.
This is LA STAZIONE / destinazione cultura, which, as part of “estAte! Cultura in Movimento”, is offering a programme of events throughout August designed to bring together different generations and interests: from chess and board games to history and literature, as well as activities dedicated to creativity and social interaction.
The programme begins with chess: strategy and challenge
The first event takes place on Tuesday, 11 August at 5:30 pm, when Piazza SS. Filippo e Giacomo, in the historic centre of Predazzo, will become the setting for an exciting challenge with the Blitz Chess Tournament, organised in collaboration with the Avisio Amateur Chess Club (Circolo Amatoriale Scacchistico Avisio).
A dynamic and engaging format open to participants aged 10 and over, as well as adults, offering the chance to test their skills at the chessboard in fast-paced games where strategy, concentration and intuition make all the difference.
Participation is free, but advance registration is required.
In case of bad weather, the tournament will be held at the Vecchia Stazione.

An evening of games and fun
Tuesday’s programme continues at 8:30 pm at the Vecchia Stazione with “Mettiamoci in gioco”, an evening dedicated to board games organised together with La LudoMotiva.
It is an opportunity to rediscover the pleasure of spending time together around a table, with challenges, strategies, laughter and new games to discover.
Admission is free and the event is aimed at young people aged 14 and over and adults. Children aged 10 to 13 may take part if accompanied by an adult.
The story of Alcide De Gasperi in Predazzo
Also on Tuesday, 11 August at 8:45 pm, LA STAZIONE / destinazione cultura will host the talk “Alcide De Gasperi. Una storia senza tempo”.
The audience will be guided through the life and legacy of the Trentino statesman by Marco Odorizzi, Director of the Fondazione Trentina Alcide De Gasperi.
The event is open to everyone and admission is free. It offers an opportunity to learn more about one of the most important figures in Italian political history and explore the personal and political journey of a leading figure from Trentino.
“Filo e filò”: creativity becomes a shared experience
The week continues with activities centred on craftsmanship and social interaction.
Every Wednesday at 3:00 pm, the spaces of LA STAZIONE / destinazione cultura will host “Filo e filò”, an event for anyone who enjoys knitting and would like to do so in good company.
It is not simply about creating: the initiative is above all an opportunity to meet, chat, exchange ideas and spend an afternoon together.
Participation is free and open to everyone.
An aperitivo with books and literature
On Thursday, 13 August at 5:00 pm, it will be time to meet an author during “Aperitivo con l’autore”.
Guest of LA STAZIONE / destinazione cultura will be Giacomo Cardinali, who will present his book “Tutti pazzi per Boccaccio”, published by Sellerio Editore Palermo.
An event for those who love books and literature, as well as for anyone who would like to discover authors through a direct and informal meeting.

Culture, encounters and community in the heart of Predazzo
The programme of “estAte! Cultura in Movimento” confirms the role of LA STAZIONE / destinazione cultura as a welcoming space for both the local community and visitors, where culture becomes an opportunity for meeting and participation.
Throughout the summer, the venue offers activities for different ages and interests, creating opportunities to pause, meet others and discover something new.
For anyone staying in Predazzo in August, there is therefore one more reason to stop by LA STAZIONE: because even during a holiday, between a walk and a hike, there is always time for a game of chess, a board game, a good story or a meeting with an author.
