There is one date that everyone in Predazzo knows by heart and that does not even need to be marked on the calendar: 25 July. This year, it falls on a Saturday, almost as if to say: there are no excuses, San Giacomo is coming.
We are talking about the famous celebration dedicated to the town’s Patron Saint, an event that involves the entire community of Predazzo. It all begins with the much-awaited market in the main square, which becomes the heart of the village from the early morning hours, hosting a succession of events, encounters and moments of joy. Thanks to the commitment and passion of the Gruppo Alpini di Predazzo, this special day welcomes locals, families and visitors who wish to experience one of the most heartfelt traditions of Val di Fiemme.
A celebration that tells the story of Predazzo’s identity
Taking part in the San Giacomo Festival means immersing yourself in the most authentic atmosphere of the village. It is one of those events that goes beyond a simple programme of activities, becoming an experience made of encounters, stories and shared emotions.
In Predazzo, the celebrations begin even before the village fills with voices and smiles: at 7.00 am, “El Bandin” of Predazzo will officially wake up the community with its traditional music, marking the beginning of a special day and offering its customary greeting to the Mayor and the entire village.
And then the celebration begins: walking through the main square and the streets of the centre, visitors can feel the strong sense of community that has always characterised this event. At 11.30 am, it will be time for the traditional Alpini Aperitif.
From 12.00 noon, the spotlight will be on the famous Alpini Lunch, featuring a typical menu inspired by the flavours of Trentino and mountain cuisine, prepared with passion and experience by local volunteers.
Throughout the day, there will be games, entertainment and moments of social gathering, making the event perfect for families with children too.
From 6.00 pm, the square turns into a big celebration
As afternoon turns into evening, the atmosphere changes completely. From 6.00 pm, live music with the lively Spritz Band will begin, ready to get everyone singing and dancing with an exciting repertoire.
With outdoor tables, drinks, sandwiches and bar service, the heart of the village will become the perfect meeting point to celebrate the importance of 25 July and enjoy a carefree summer evening together.
