No Before, No After. There Is Predazzo!

There is a temptation, when covering major events, that a journalist must resist: dividing time into a “before” and an “after.” It has happened with World Expos, with the FIFA World Cup, with the Olympics. It will happen again with the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics.

But not in Predazzo.

Here, there will be no “before the Olympics” and no “after the Olympics.” There will be Predazzo.

In the heart of the Val di Fiemme, among the natural architecture of the Dolomites and the silent scent of cirmolo pines growing at altitude, this Trentino destination does not need to reinvent itself. Here, the mountains are more than just a landscape: they are substance, identity, and breath—the perfect metaphor for this land.

The Olympics have not brought a new face; at most, they have illuminated an authentic one.

The ski jumps, the centerpiece of these intense two weeks and observed by the world, were not built to impress for just a handful of competitions. They are part of an ecosystem that has thrived for decades, where young athletes grow up looking at the sky as a horizon of possibility.

And so, the story changes.

The competitions, the athletes, the Fan Zone, the events—they all found a home in a territory that is ready, mature, and true to its vocation.

Predazzo will continue to be what it has always been: a capital of Nordic skiing, an alpine community that understands the value of quiet work and genuine hospitality.

In 2026, the world discovered and explored a postcard of our land.
But those who return afterward—and they will—will discover a story.

The Olympics will pass.
The medals will change hands.
The cameras will go dark.

Predazzo will not be a “before” or an “after” Milano Cortina 2026.
It will always be.

And this, more than any medal, is its true victory.
