On June 2nd, as we know, Italy celebrates a historic national holiday marking the birth of the Republic. It is a day rich in symbolic meaning, evoking freedom and civic participation. Within this context, an event that returns every year takes on even greater significance, transforming the valley’s connecting road from a simple transit route into the true protagonist of a shared collective experience.
This is the spirit of Fiemme Senz’Auto, the event that annually turns the main artery of the Val di Fiemme into a vast open space dedicated to people, bicycles, and a different way of experiencing the territory—more sustainable, slower, and more mindful. During this special day, the SS48 delle Dolomiti is closed to motor traffic, offering residents and visitors a unique opportunity to cross the valley at a relaxed pace, immersed in its most authentic landscapes.
Those familiar with Val di Fiemme know how essential this road is for connecting its villages. Yet, when traffic disappears, an entirely new dimension of the territory emerges. The silence is replaced by the voices of families, the sound of bicycles rolling across the asphalt, and the lively atmosphere of celebration. The mountains seem closer, landscapes become the true protagonists, and every bend reveals a new perspective on the Dolomites.
Predazzo welcomes summer with free entry to the Biolago
Summer begins with the reopening of one of the most iconic places in the Val di Fiemme: the Biolago of Predazzo, a green oasis that perfectly blends nature, relaxation, wellbeing, and leisure in a unique setting at the foot of the Dolomites.
For lunch, visitors will be able to enjoy sandwiches and strudel prepared by the volunteers of Sportabili Predazzo, an organization long committed to promoting inclusive sport and active participation for all. A simple yet meaningful taste that reflects the authentic flavor of Trentino tradition and enriches the day’s gastronomic experience.
Sport will also play a leading role thanks to the participation of Fiemme Basket, which will involve children and young people in basketball activities and workshops, turning the day into a true celebration of sport and outdoor life. Starting at 4:30 PM, the atmosphere will rise at the Biolago with live music by the band “The Others”, accompanying the public towards the closing moments of a truly special day.
New for 2026: the Green Quest Passport
One of the most exciting innovations of the 2026 edition is the Green Quest Passport, an initiative designed to encourage participants to experience Fiemme Senz’Auto in a more engaging and interactive way.
Each visitor will receive a special passport to be completed by visiting the numerous stands along the route: information points, cultural areas, recreational activities, gastronomic offerings, and many other experiences spread across the villages of Val di Fiemme.
The goal is simple: collect all the stamps and complete your personal journey of discovery through the valley.
Once the Green Quest is completed, the passport can be submitted at the offices of the Fiemme and Cembra Tourism Board, allowing participants to enter a prize draw. Prizes include complimentary vouchers for summer experiences in the area such as guided excursions, tastings, evening events, and other activities dedicated to discovering local excellence.
An initiative that makes Fiemme Senz’Auto even more interactive, inviting both residents and visitors to explore every location involved and transforming the day into a true adventure.
