Il Punto Bio

We have become accustomed to believing that the right price is the lowest one, to considering the underpriced as a golden opportunity not to be missed and then to be outraged at wasted crops, underpaid labor and intensive exploitation of land and farms. Instead, we should get used to really understanding what lies behind what we buy every day. We should really understand the words we absent-mindedly use. Like “BIO.”

Mara Vilucchi did it many years ago when she was still living in Bolzano and already eating exclusively organic products. When in ’85 Mara moved to Fiemme Valley the offer of organic products in Predazzo was limited to a few prodoucts, not always available, so after working for years in the restaurant industry, she decided at the age of 45 that it was time to change her life, to invest her energies in something she has always believed in, in something she loves because it has always been part of her life.

Thus was born, in October 2006, NaturaSì Predazzo – Il Punto Bio, the store he opened together with Lucia Gabrielli, his equal partner until 2020. Fifteen years of activity during which the two partners see slowly growing in the village the interest and awareness towards all that is behind the word “BIO”: strict rules that regulate cultivations and breeding, and productions.

A word that tells of a deep respect for the land, for its times, its seasons but also a respect for the man who works that land and thanks to that land, lives.

Mara today is retired, although the light that illuminates her gaze makes her look like a little girl…in the store comes to help us the new owner, her son, Walter, who has been feeding himself with organic products since he was born. The enthusiasm is the same as his mother’s, but now there are new inspirations and projects, and we just have to welcome this very successful generational transition!
